case study
Weather data did not tell homeowners what to do
Problem
Forecasts and hazard scores were plentiful, but the next useful action was unclear. I used the alert and risk breakdown to make the problem visible without turning the product into another weather dashboard.
Alerts and risks, in the actual interface
Product evidence

One risk became one next action
Decision
Instead of presenting every possible hazard equally, Sentinel moves from the active alert to a ranked recommendation and then into a task the homeowner can complete.
One HVS kept the product coherent
System
Property resilience, historical exposure, and forecast severity resolve into one Home Vulnerability Score. The interface uses that score to rank urgency; the Swift engine keeps the rule inspectable.

The recommendation stayed useful after the alert
Execution
Action Plan turns advice into work, History preserves why it mattered, and Insurance translates completed mitigation into a financial benefit.
A complete loop in 48 hours
Outcome
The native SwiftUI prototype connected alert, recommendation, task, and history states and won the Google x SCAD FLUX hackathon.
